The winner(s) will receive a substantial prize of USD 100,000.
Scope and Objectives
The 2025 edition of the Nigeria Prize for Science seeks to identify and reward scientific works that advance knowledge and offer practical solutions with significant societal impact. Entries must demonstrate the application of science in the fields of ICT, AI, and digital technologies, addressing critical problems that benefit Nigeria. The competition is open to scientists and innovators globally, irrespective of nationality.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Global Participation: Open to scientists and innovators worldwide, both Nigerians and non-Nigerians.
- Thematic Relevance: Submissions should focus on the application of ICT, AI, and digital technologies for development.
- Completed Work: Entries must be completed scientific works, supported by proof of concept or evidence of significant societal impact.
- Single Submission: Only one entry per individual or group is permitted.
- Conflict of Interest: Members of the Advisory Board, Panel of Judges, and their relatives are ineligible during their tenure and for one year thereafter.
- NLNG Affiliation: NLNG staff and their family members are excluded from participation during their employment and for five years post-service.
Evaluation Process
Entries will be assessed based on:
- Scientific Merit: The work should be outstanding, contributing new knowledge or innovation in the specified fields.
- Societal Impact: Submissions must include proof of concept demonstrating practical application and tangible benefits to society.
- Relevance: The work should address critical issues pertinent to Nigeria’s development.
Submission Guidelines
Applicants are required to:
- Documentation: Provide supporting articles or documents, with a maximum file size of 500MB per file, allowing up to 10 files.
- Photograph: Include one scanned passport-sized photograph.
- Deadline: Ensure all entries are submitted by midnight GMT on April 30, 2025.
