NABTEB Announces 2024 Exam Results: 67.56% Pass with Five Credits
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the November/December 2024 certificate examinations, revealing that 67.56% of candidates achieved five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. This marks a slight decline from the previous year’s performance, where 71.27% of candidates met the same criteria.
Dr. Nnasia Asanga, the Acting Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, announced the results in Benin City. He disclosed that out of 44,226 candidates who sat for the National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, 29,880 obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, 42,431 candidates, representing 95.94%, secured five credits and above irrespective of English and Mathematics.
The Acting Registrar also highlighted a reduction in examination malpractice cases. In the 2024 examinations, 0.53% of candidates were involved in malpractice, a slight decrease from the 0.57% recorded in 2023. This improvement is attributed to NABTEB’s stringent quality assurance mechanisms aimed at preserving the integrity of its assessments.
Candidates are advised to check their results on the official NABTEB website: www.nabteb.gov.ng. The board has also introduced electronic certificates (e-certificates) for candidates from 2017 to 2022, facilitating easier access to their academic records.
Dr. Asanga reiterated NABTEB’s commitment to combating examination malpractice through collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and the implementation of innovative measures to enhance exam security. He emphasized the importance of technical and vocational education in bridging the gap between education and unemployment in today’s innovation-driven economy.

The Federal Ministry of Education has approved a policy transition from Federal Science and Technical Colleges (FSTCs) to Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs) to align with modern workforce demands.
