Enugu State Initiates Gratuity Payments to Recent Retirees

The Enugu State Government has commenced the disbursement of gratuities to civil servants who retired from January 2025 onwards, marking a significant step in honoring its commitments to state retirees. This initiative aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s directive to ensure timely settlement of retirement benefits for public servants.

State Accountant General, Anthony Okenwa, confirmed the initiation of gratuity payments to recent retirees. He emphasized that the process began with individuals who successfully completed the mandated biometric verification. The administration has also turned its attention to outstanding gratuities owed to retirees from 2010 to 2024.
