Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has issued a firm directive barring government appointees from making public statements without prior approval from the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). Addressing members of the Executive Council in Uyo, Governor Eno emphasized the necessity of clear and coordinated messaging. He warned that unauthorized statements could cause confusion, distort policy objectives, and undermine the credibility of his administration. To mitigate such risks, he mandated that all government pronouncements undergo vetting by the SSG before being disseminated to the public.
