Imo State Police Intensify Efforts to Rescue Abducted Catholic Priest

The Imo State Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation and intensified operations to rescue Rev. Fr. John Ubaechu, a Catholic priest abducted on Sunday, March 23, 2025, along Ejemekuru Road in Oguta Local Government Area. The abduction occurred as Fr. Ubaechu was returning from an assignment.

Henry Okoye, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated that an intelligence-driven operation is underway to facilitate the priest’s safe return.
